Library professional staff meeting 8-26-08
LIBRARY PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEETING
August 26, 2008, 9:00 a.m., Hovde
Present: Chris, Andi, John, Jane, Lindy, Germano, Rebecca.
Welcome to our new colleague, Rebecca Sullivan.
Time and place set for professional staff meetings.
Reviewed the calendar of upcoming dates.
Everyone gave a short summary of their professional activities done over the summer.
John gave a demo on the new LIS website and Encore.
Germano discussed the Reference Desk schedules (daily and weekend). Sheets are being routed for signing up for hours each will work. Discussion followed on Reference student workers. Two handouts were passed out showing the usage directed to reference by time of day and by weekday during last fiscal year.
Jane gave out a handout on collection development assignments. After editing, she will give copies to all.
Chris spoke on the liaison program. He then gave a demo on the new LIS website.
John gave information on our budgets for the 2008-09 year.
Andi spoke on library instruction and gave out a handout for all to review. Also reported that our summer intern, Heidi Madsen, worked out really well. She was a great help to all. Dana Fine will be the library intern for the fall of 2008. There will be further discussion on the internship program at future meetings.
