Encore Introduces New Features

With the recent upgrade to Encore 2.0, new features are available in the LIS’s resource discovery tool.

• Individual logon – Available from the top right corner of any Encore page, this will give you access to your library account information, and will display a notification messages, such as when an item is coming due.
• Community tagging – Sometimes subject headings just aren’t enough! Now, logged-in users can create searchable tags from the bottom of each item record. Community-contributed tags will appear in the tag cloud on the search results page.
• Yahoo! Images – Web-based images related to your search term will appear on the search results page.
• Research Pro becomes Articles and More – Search several article sources at once by clicking anywhere within the Articles and More box on the lower right column.
• Recently Added – New library materials related to your search will be display in a list in the middle of the right column.
