Present: Matt H, Matt B, Bob E, Ryan, Bob P, Larry, Todd, Matt H, Diane
- Accreditation conversations – Various conversations occurring; all faculty invited to session yesterday at 4:00, all staff invited to session today at 4:00.
- Surround Sound System – The Altec Lansing 5.1 surround sound system that was with the Dell demo unit near Help Desk will be kept until need arises rather than selling it on the auction.
- Norse Calendar ‘Easy Button’ – Since it’s no longer possible to search for public calendars, a new method was needed to inform people of available calendars. Lynnette has documented the new procedure. See http://lis.luther.edu/node/2774 for the details.
- Labs – PC labs on campus are logging in faster now thanks to Microsoft Windows and Sophos updates being applied on a weekly basis rather than attempting to install each time the computers boot. Additional changes to improve login time are in progress and have been implemented in Legends and Brunsdale.
- Kiosk Computers – Research will be done to close open windows after a period of inactivity to prevent inappropriate content from displaying for extended length of time.
- Budget – Reviewed budgeting process. Requests for additional funds for this year or the upcoming year are to be added to the spreadsheet by User Services team members by Friday, April 17th.
- Encore 2.0 – Ryan demoed the new functionality which include individual logins, community tagging, and more. See http://lis.luther.edu/blog/20090406/encore-introduces-new-features
- Track-It! – The Track-It! 8.5 server now has an operating system and the database is being installed this week. After that, version 8.5 of the software will be installed and a snapshot of our data copied over to the server for testing. Plans are to make the switch this June.
