Library professional staff meeting 4-20-09

LIBRARY PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEETING

April 20, 2009, 9:15 a.m., Hovde

Present: Chris, Ryan, John, Jane, Lindy, Germano, Rebecca, Rachel.

Report from those who had attended the IPAL and the ILA/ACRL meetings April 16th and 17th.

Jane gave a report on the Library book sale of last week.

John/Ryan led an electronic resource interest discussion. Kevin Engel will be getting various quotes. We will be letting him know items we are interested in. We agreed to not show interest in Newsbank and to indicate a new interest in LexisNexis. This will be discussed further in May after quotes are received.

John gave a materials budget report with a reminder for ordering as the fiscal year end is approaching fast.

Ryan has received software requests for Evernote, Economagic, and Eric IDE. The group will come back with recommendations at a later meeting.

Germano spoke on the summer work schedule. Everyone will sign up for the days they can work.

Jane asked about the May 11th anniversary plans. There will be an open house on the afternoon of May 11th with refreshments. A larger event will take place during Homecoming to celebrate the 40th anniversary.
