Library professional staff meeting 9-14-09

LIBRARY PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEETING

September 14, 2009, 9:15 a.m., Hovde

Present: Chris, Andi, Ryan, John, Jane, Lindy, Germano, Rebecca, Rachel.

Jane handed out the lost book lists to each pertaining to their departments for review as to either reorder or withdraw. Would like to have this resolved by the end of September.

Ryan spoke on the CLOCKSS journal archive. He recommended we join. All agreed to go ahead with this on a trial basis.

Germano handed out the sheet listing the CHOICE reference titles for consideration for purchasing. Action was taken on all titles.

Andi reported on a copyright situation she had encountered. Discussion followed on how to deal with this subject.

We currently have no emergency response plan for Reference. A subcommittee was appointed to work on creating a plan in the near future.

John spoke on changing from Campus Research to Lexis-Nexis, which will begin October 1st. He also gave an update on the periodical project. Will give a further report at a later meeting.

Jane gave an update on the 40th anniversary celebration. The banner has arrived, speakers, and reception arrangements are in place.
