User Services Meeting - 9/15/09

• Insight Demo – Demonstration of Faronics Insight classroom control system (http://www.faronics.com/html/Insight.asp) is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22nd at 1 p.m for faculty who use M113 and M114.
• LIS Mixer – Reviewed plans for the October 1st gathering intended to introduce LIS student workers and staff to each other.
• LIS Website Upgrade – Ready for testing of Drupal 6, the new version of the software running the LIS website. More information regarding the URL for testing will be forthcoming. Plan is to make the switch over fall break.
• Website Usability Testing for Fac/Staff – Suggestions for Help Desk or Training & Instruction related questions regarding the LIS website are being sought. Email suggestions to Ryan this week, the sooner the better.
• Emergency Planning – LIS plan is being updated to current. Hand dispensers will be installed in the larger labs in the coming weeks.
• Adobe Presenter – Will research pricing and image implications of acquiring the software.
• HP Laptops – The HP laptops have arrived and the Luther image has been installed. LIS folks interested in taking a look at them should contact Larry.
• Staff Meeting – Wed at 2 or Thurs at 9, “Marketing: Telling the Luther Story – Rob Larson”
