This workshop focuses on ways to incorporate place and sustainability, broadly defined, into courses in all disciplines. The goal is for each participant to examine one course that he/she teaches or wants to teach and begin to revise a syllabus to incorporate sustainability in some way. We will utilize a number of guest speakers and small and large group discussion to learn about:
• What makes this place, our campus in the Oneota valley, unique and special
• How classes can relate to this place as a physical and social environment
• Sustainability issues and efforts in the larger world and at Luther
• Ways that classes can relate to these sustainability issues
• Connecting sustainability to learning outcomes and evaluation strategies
• Ways to connect faith with learning as we work to care for creation
