INTRODUCTION
LIS is implementing Google Apps for Education at Luther under the name Norse Apps. This online productivity suite includes Luther-branded versions of Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Documents, Google Sites, and iGoogle (Google Start Page). Implementation is beginning Spring 2008 and will complete by Summer 2009.
LIS will provide a "show-and-tell" of Norse Apps. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend. For more information on Norse Apps, see http://helpdesk.luther.edu/go/norseapps.
DEMONSTRATION
* The demonstration will begin with Norse Mail, showing how you can use the Gmail web interface or Thunderbird to access your mail. Norse Chat will also be shown.
* Next, Norse Cal will be demonstrated and compared to Oracle Calendar.
* Finally, Norse Docs (which includes documents, spreadsheets, and presentations) will be shown along with the collaboration this product encourages.
