Timeline

A news event (like the protest against the WTO summit in Seattle in 1999) makes visible the production of information related to it.

But that information is part of a continuum that may:

  • actually begin before the event takes place
  • sometimes be visible to the public and sometimes not
  • may never really end, but just slow down over time
