Anti-Virus Software

Due to the constant threats of viruses and malware, all computers that access the Luther network must have an anti-virus software installed with up-to-date definitions.

For this reason, Sophos Anti-Virus is provided for free to all Faculty, Staff, and Students. Sophos is installed by default on Luther owned workstations.

Other acceptable anti-virus software includes McAffee, Norton, Symantec, Trend Micro, and AVG among others.

Sophos is available for Windows XP, Vista, and Mac OS X. It can be obtained from the Sophos website or through a Norse Clean CD outside of the Technology Help Desk.

Service Availability

Sophos Anti-Virus is available to Faculty, Staff, and Students of Luther College.

Sophos may be installed on Faculty and Staff personal computers so long as the person remains employed by Luther College.
