Norse Docs

This LIS training covers the Docs components of Norse Apps. All faculty and staff are welcome to attend this session.

Together, we will experience Norse Docs (which includes forms, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations) and the collaboration this product encourages. Other features we will explore include:
* Creating a form that you invite people to complete via email
* Versioning
* Adding Comments
* Creating Folders to Organize Files
* Importing into Norse Docs

Oracle/Norse Calendar

Location: Olin 301 – Round Table Room

The Norse Calendar will be the primary campus calendar (replacing Oracle Calendar) as of Jan. 1, 2009. This is a campus-wide calendar (available to all faculty, staff, and students) so the more who use the calendar, the more useful it is for the Luther community.

LIS cannot transfer information from Oracle Calendar into Norse Calendar. However, it is possible for you to export your Oracle Calendar meetings for historical purposes. This workshop has been scheduled to assist you in exporting your information.

This online productivity suite includes Luther-branded versions of Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Documents, and iGoogle (Google Start Page). All faculty and staff are to move to Norse Apps by December 31, 2008. All students have already moved.

Book Discussion: "The Lyncher in Me" (second half)

Facilitator: Karlos Hill, CFD Fellow and Visiting Instructor in Africana Studies and History

Location: Borlaug – Dahl Centennial Union

Topic: Discussion of the second half of “The Lyncher in Me,” Warren Read’s provocative memoir about his family’s participation in the 1920 Duluth lynching.

This reading group will bring together faculty, staff and students interested in exploring contemporary race relations by investigating the history and legacy of lynching in the United States.
