Atomic Learning

Atomic Learning delivers a library of short, easy-to-view-and-understand tutorial movies that can be used as an integral part of a professional development program, a valuable curriculum supplement and an anytime/anywhere software training resource. The collection answers common questions people have when learning and using software. It includes more than 35,000 individual tutorial movies, which cover more than 100 software applications.

Library Research: New Connections, New Opportunities

During the Summer of 2008 LIS replaced the old library website with our new Library Research site which has both a new look and new capabilities.

This session will introduce and explain the connections between the library catalog (Magnus), our new discovery tool (Encore) and our new federated database search engine (Research Pro) while looking at some of the new research possibilities that they offer.

INTRODUCTION

LIS is implementing Google Apps for Education at Luther under the name Norse Apps. This online productivity suite includes Luther-branded versions of Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Documents, Google Sites, and iGoogle (Google Start Page).

Implementation is beginning Spring 2008 and will complete by Summer 2009.

Windows Vista

INTRODUCTION

Windows Vista is the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system, after Windows XP.Windows Vista upgrades will be gradually phased in during normal computer replacement cycles. Office 2007 Introduction

INTRODUCTION

Office 2007 is the latest version of Microsoft's Office suite of products for the PC, which consists of a number of productivity applications. The most popular applications in the Office suites are Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Microsoft Office 2007 upgrades will be gradually phased in during normal computer replacement cycles.
