  • Staff Appreciation Day – Be sure to attend on Monday, August 11th, and to sign up for “Luther’s Game Show Medley” when you register.
  • User Services Opening – Reviewed the changes in User Services and that we are searching for a Help Desk Specialist.
  • Student Work Computer – Discussed the request to upgrade the student work computer in the Athletic Training Room and specific next steps.
  • Mott/Borlaug – These two spaces will be used as classrooms this fall.

With the departure of Andrew, Ryan’s move to Digital Initiatives Librarian, and Rebecca’s new role as Academic Technology Librarian there have been many conversions with User Services folks regarding how best to support our users going forward.

LC Academic Norse Calendar

There is now a Norse Calendar titled “Luther College Academic Calendar” available for your use. Maintained by the Registrar’s Office, it begins with the 2008-2009 academic year. If you have a Norse Apps account, you can add this to your calendar by selecting “Add > Add a public calendar”, searching for “Luther College”, and clicking the “Add to Calendar” button under “Luther College Academic Calendar”. If you do not yet have a Norse Apps account, sign up for a session at http://lis.luther.edu/learn or contact the LIS Technology Help Desk.

Norse Apps Update

The Norse Apps implementation is moving right along. In addition to the scheduled demonstrations and training sessions, sessions were held last week for the Alumni Office and this morning for the Admissions Office. One new Norse Mail feature is that contacts can be initially loaded in as groups.

Sampson-Hoffland A/V Classroom Installation Update

The installation team is on campus and working with us to equip the new A/V Classrooms.
Work should be completed at the end of this week.

Valders 55 Lab Closes

The Valders 55 Lab has been closed and all the computer equipment removed because remodeling will begin next week.
The future of the lab is unknown at this time, but most likely a new Lab location will be determined during the next school year.

Olin 202 Upgrade

Olin 202 (Kent Lee’s CS Lab) has received 37 new 19 inch Dell Flat Panels.
The classroom is now available for scheduling.
