EDUCAUSE 2008 Annual Conference

The theme for this year’s EDUCAUSE 2008 Annual Conference is “Interaction, Ideas, Inspiration”

Tuesday I attended an all-day pre-conference session titled, “Balanced Leadership: The Role of Behavior Styles and Emotional Intelligence”. It was no surprise that we began with a behavior style profile to learn more about ourselves and how we relate to others. We moved on to communication and I found it interesting that 38% of communication is tone – I found it interesting mainly because of the addition to the communication plan that focused on tone.

MISO 2008 Symposium

LIS will be administering the MISO Survey in Spring 2009. Between now and early December, we will be working to review the surveys from Spring 2007 when we last administered the survey to the Luther community and create the survey for the upcoming spring. As you may recall, there are three versions of the survey – one for faculty, one for students, and another for staff.

At Monday’s MISO 2008 Symposium in Orlando, we discussed trends found from the 2005-2008 MISO Survey data, focusing on the data from the 10 institutions who have administered the survey twice.
