Bob Erickson

User Services Classroom & Meeting Space Technology Lead

As the Classroom & Meeting Space Technology Lead, Bob Erickson implements and maintains technology solutions for Luther’s spaces. He works with departments around campus to design or change classrooms and meeting spaces so that they are able to install and utilize their technologies more effectively. In addition to maintaining set or installed technologies, he is in charge of all types of portable technology. He also oversees Luther’s CATV network, satellite dishes, and digital signage operations, as well as working at the Help Desk as needed.

Bob Puffer

User Services Instructional Technology Specialist

Year Started at Luther: 2003

As the Instructional Technology Specialist for LIS, Bob Puffer is in charge of all aspects of managing KATIE. Luther’s learning management system built on Moodle. He works with many faculty members to help them use the site to its full potential. As he gets requests through the LIS Help Desk, he works to facilitate problems with the site, making sure it remains functional and helpful for those who use it.

Rebecca Sullivan

Academic Technology Librarian, Assistant Professor

As the Academic Technology Librarian, Rebecca Sullivan develops new resources and assists faculty in finding innovative technology to support their academic goals. As a librarian, she is liaison to the English, Biology, Nursing, and Computer Science departments. Rebecca would describe herself as a teacher at heart, and points out that the new technologies help instructors respond to student needs while maintaining a foundation of good teaching practices.

Matt Hammen

User Services Workstation Support Specialist

As a Workstation Support Specialist, Matt Hammen works with and helps maintain all faculty, staff, and lab computers. Together with Larry and Todd, he builds and deploys the software images across campus and also makes sure that all of the hardware is functioning. What Matt most enjoys about his job is the opportunity to work with such a vast cross-section of the Luther Community.

Lynnette Perry

User Services Help Desk Specialist

An alumna of Luther, Lynette Perry now works as a Help Desk Specialist for LIS. Through LIS, she works with student workers to allocate and direct the work orders received by the Help Desk. She enjoys the flexibility and variety she finds as she goes on work orders, helps to install software, assists and informs staff and students and troubleshoots general Help Desk problems.

Larry Sikkink

User Services Workstation Support Lead

Year Started at Luther: 1980

As a Workstation Support Lead for LIS, Larry Sikkink works to repair computer monitors, printers, and most anything else computer related. He and his department upgrade software and hardware for computers in labs and offices across campus. They handle problems that may be too complex for the Help Desk to handle alone. Larry enjoys the problem solving involved in deconstructing computers to ultimately update and fix them.

Diane Gossman

Director of User Services

Year Started at Luther: 1992

As the Director of User Services, Diane Gossman manages a department that includes the Help Desk, Academic Technology, User Systems, and Training teams. She is in charge of creating and realizing new technology-based visions and projects to be created for and used by the Luther community. These include training and instruction in new technology ventures, support for desktops and other Luther owned computers, and other information and technological services campuswide.

Todd Marken

User Services Workstation Support Specialist

Year Started at Luther: 1999

Todd Marken works as a Workstation Support Specialist for LIS. While he used to support Windows PC’s, he now works more often with Apple desktop and laptops, specifically Mac support for Luther-owned computers (both in labs and for faculty), repairing hardware and troubleshooting other Mac-specific issues. He enjoys working with computers in general, but especially likes finding ways to fix people’s difficult computer problems so they can continue working.

User Services Multimedia Lead

Matt Baumann is the User Services Multimedia Lead for the Help Desk. His primary job is to fulfill the media needs of the community, whether it be through video, audio, or graphic work. While he is an active member of the Help Desk team and troubleshoots all issues, his area of expertise is audio/visual support.

User Services Help Desk Lead

As the Help Desk Lead, Matt Hughes is in charge of the help desk and its operations. He works to create and manage long-term goals for the Help Desk, trying to move their projects in a proactive rather than reactive direction. One of his most enjoyable tasks is working with the students and staff to help them find solutions to their problems. He would like to remind the community that the Help Desk is an excellent place to come with any and all technology questions. If they can’t help you, they can certainly find someone who can.
