Citrix – Can be used from your home or office computer through an Internet browser. It uses the applications installed on the Citrix server. See http://lis.luther.edu/learn/citrix.

VPN – Luther’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a tool that allows use to access a network share (such as a T drive or your H drive) through an Internet browser. Go to https://vpn.luther.edu and log in using your Norse Key.

Need to Reset Your Passwords?

As a new academic year begins and students and faculty return to campus, LIS would like to remind you of two useful tools to reset your passwords. Your NorseKey and Datatel passwords expire every 180 days. You can reset them yourself using the following tools.

On NorseKey.luther.edu you will be asked to set your security questions if you have not already completed them to authenticate yourself so that you can use the “Forgot My NorseKey” option to reset your NorseKey.

Norse Mail Invitations

All faculty and staff are to switch to Luther’s new email system, Norse Mail, before December 31, 2008. To make this easier, starting Thursday, November 13th, you can switch on your own by logging into SquirrelMail (at http://webmail.luther.edu), and choosing to migrate. If you prefer, you can attend an upcoming training session and switch there (register at http://lis.luther.edu/learn) or contact the LIS Technology Help Desk. December is busy enough already. Move today.

LC Holiday Norse Calendar

There is now a Norse Calendar titled “Luther College Holidays” available for your use. Maintained by the Human Resources Office, it begins with the 2008-2009 academic year. This is the “Summer Hours and Holiday Schedule” that we received on paper back in April. If you have a Norse Apps account, you can add this to your calendar by selecting “Add > Add a public calendar”, searching for “Luther College”, and clicking the “Add to Calendar” button under “Luther College Holidays”.

The following session would be beneficial for faculty as well as LIS folks involved with supporting faculty. Hope to see you there!
