3-D Printing Demonstration and Other Spring Workshops

Reminder to check out the various learning opportunities this spring on the LIS Training and Instruction Calendar.

I would like to especially draw people’s attention to a 3-D printing demonstration that will be happening in the library next week. Next Wednesday, February 27th at 4:00 p.m. in the New Books Area on Preus’ Main Floor, Luther senior Brit Indrelie will be demonstrating how a 3-D object can be scanned and that scan can then be used to “print out” a three dimensional replica.

Why You Should Care About Google+

What is Google+ anyway? I don’t have time for this. Another social network? * sigh * I’m still getting used to Facebook’s timeline thing.

Do the comments above sound like things you or colleagues have said in recent months?

If so, we get it. Technology changes at such a rapid pace that sometimes it can be hard to keep up and it can be hard to want to. Additionally, you may view social media as a way of connecting with friends, rather than colleagues.
