June 5 Firewall Upgrade complete

I have completed the upgrade of our internet firewall this morning. Based on my testing I believe the upgrade was successful, and that the new firewall is working properly.

If you notice anything that the firewall upgrade may have broken, please notify the Help Desk. If a problem were caused by the firewall upgrade, it would be either 1.) Some Luther provided service that used to be accessible from off campus but no longer is. 2.)Something on the internet that you used to be able to access from on campus, but no longer can.

Network Outage in Preus and Olin Monday Morning

The following message is from Facilities:

Electrical service will need to be re-fed to Olin as a result of the Sampson-Hoffland Science Center project. In order to re-feed the wire, the power will need to be shut off to Olin Hall. The first outage is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 24 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. After commencement, the power will be shut off for a longer period of time to actually make the terminations and connections. A message will be sent out later with the date and time of that power shut off.
