Update: Encore service restored

UPDATED 12:15pm, 2/20/13 – Access has been restored to Encore.

The Encore search tool is currently unavaillable. In the meantime, you may search the library catalog at http://books.luther.edu.

Our provider of Encore is working to resolve the issue, and we will update this post when service is restored.

See google analytics for your website in ReasonCMS

Today we turned on Google analytics reporting in ReasonCMS. Now any site owner/editor can view up to date analytics via the ReasonCMS admin console.

Site maintainers can view analytics for their whole site or a particular page. Additionally, they can limit the results by date range and on-campus vs.

LIS Auction Access Restored

Our database host was able to identify and resolve the issue with access to the LIS Auction site. Access was restored on Friday, Jan 11 at 5:00 pm.

Reason CMS Hack/Doc

Ben and Steve travelled to Northfield, MN with members of the Publications office for the 3rd Reason CMS Hack/Doc. Carleton demoed their Kaltura AV integration and a theme customizer.

Network.luther.edu is back online

The network registration page, network.luther.edu, was having issues around 4pm. LIS has now resolved the issue and all network services are restored.

directory.luther.edu back online - this time with login capabilities

The directory is once again available with an option to login. Once logged in you can see more information about people based on your credentials.

Fine Arts Collection closed for construction

The server that hosts the Fine Arts searchable collection is unexpectedly down. LIS was in the process of moving the collection database and website to a new collection management and publishing system. Instead of investing time into reconstructing the Fine Arts Collection in it’s old format, the current Fine Arts Collection will remain unavailable until the new website and content is brought online later this year.

WHAT CHANGES INSTRUCTORS SHOULD EXPECT

  1. Navigation changes: A lot of familiar links have been moved around to different areas so some confusion should be expected initially
  2. Conversion of Old Courses: There have been reported difficulties in getting an older style of course to convert to the newer style without some loss of functionality. Sometimes this means a loss of block or activity functionality and sometimes it means actual loss of material information pertinent to the course record of activity.

New Online Campus Directory in Place

The online campus directory has undergone a rewrite. The core functionality largely remains unchanged. Users will notice, however, additional search options under the “Show/Hide more options” link and a more reader-friendly table layout.
