Web time entry enabled on my.luther.edu

We have just enabled some new menu items on the my.luther.edu web site. This will allow a small group of student workers to enter their work time on the web. We are starting with a small pilot group of students to begin this project. Most users will see the message “You do not have permission to access this workflow.” when they try to access the links on the Students and Employees menus.

The web time entry project will be gradually expanded over the coming months to allow additional student workers to enter their work time via the web.

LIS Printing Policies

As of June 1, 2008, LIS will no longer be supporting Personal printers (i.e. – DeskJets, InkJets, desktop Lasers, etc). The Help Desk will provide installation of printers and basic troubleshooting, but personal printers will be considered departmental equipment and will not be centrally supplied by LIS. Personal printers will no longer be replaced nor taken for deep cleaning or repair.

This is being taken in an effort to make Luther’s printing infrastructure more efficient and less costly. The average personal printer per page cost is approximately 4 – 10 times that of a workgroup printer. LIS will be working with departments to make workgroup printers available and accessible.

Faculty were notified of this change prior to the roll out on the sheets they were required to fill out to get their computers.
