Faculty Computer Refresh

The replacement cycle for faculty is being standardized with that for other employees at four years. Faculty had been replaced every three years, including the summers of 2002 and 2005. A four year cycle is manageable for most needs and maximizes our hardware investments. As we move to a staggered replacement cycle, this summer we will replace hardware for 3/4 of those involved in the rollout and all involved will receive updated versions of the software. Next summer, 1/4 of those involved will receive new hardware. Thereafter, 1/4 of those involved will receive new hardware each summer.

Instructional Services

Preus Library, in support of the College's mission, promotes information literacy for all members of the campus community. Library faculty guide the college community toward a sophisticated level of information literacy through helping them clearly express information needs, locate relevant sources, analyze those sources critically, investigate with a degree of innovation, and use applicable technologies to synthesize information.

Reserves (KATIE, eReserves, and Physical Reserves)

LIS offers assistance in providing access to readings and other materials (sound recordings, videos, etc.) that support the instructional requirements for specific courses. This is done through the KATIE learning management system, eReserves, and physical reserves.

KATIE:

LIS recommends KATIE as the preferred method for handling eReserves.
