Headline of the Week: A New Academic Year

This past week, Luther welcomed not only the Class of 2013 to campus, but also welcomed back our returning students as well as our faculty from our collective summer adventures. For the first time, LIS now has available documentation designed to inform new (and returning) community members about the services LIS provides to enhance their work and study at Luther. These guides (one for students and one for employees) are available on the LIS website at http://lis.luther.edu/welcome.

labstats.pngLuther provides nearly 600 computers in academic and public lab settings across the campus. This deployment, managed and supported by LIS is a significant investment for the college and is intended to provide our faculty and students with the infrastructure they need to teach and learn in the most effective way possible.

Headline of the Week: Luther Network Expansion

1747920810_f556bddd42_m.jpgIt is hard to think that twenty years ago access to network-based resources was not part of our daily work routine. Given the number of hours we spend accessing email, the web, chat, etc. today, it truly is a challenge to remember a time when these tools were not deeply embedded in our work.
